We don’t provide wireless keyboards and mice unless there is either a special-needs case, or a good business case, such as a large venue with a lectern away from the computer. Reasons why not:
- Wireless keyboards, mice and the USB dongle only work together. One element goes missing means we must replace the whole lot.
- Batteries run out of charge which usually results in a request to Service Desk.
- Some wireless keyboards and mice have Off switches to save power. Again, a call to the Service Desk usually results if this is in the Off position to save battery power.
- A wireless keyboard or mouse can cause too many issues such as lost connections, dubious letters appearing, or jerky mouse movements.
